AT a recent virtual meeting, member Suzanne Dwyer gave a presentation on a letter from the times of the Napoleonic Wars.

It is a complete letter, dated 16 January 1795 from an English businessman and his wife. Their business was supplying the navy, particularly during the time of the American War of Independence.

​

It was sent to their son, showing their concern about him leaving Portsmouth while 'the fleet is in so critical a situation.
